Daily Poem

LIFE

Life is like the waves it has its ups and downs

Life is like a roller coaster it has its twists and turns
Life is like a sport it just depends on what we play
Life is like a game of poker it just depends on what we are dealt
Life can be given, life can be taken
Life can be a curse, life can be a blessing
Life can be a pain, life can be insane
Life has its ways, life has its days
Life has its love, life has its hate
Life has its gentler touch but it has its harder punch
Life brings you your knees when you feel in need
Life brings you a lot of things but in the end it depends on what we do

Cygan, Heather (Pick)

View/Sign Guest Book
CYGAN (PICK) Heather (Pick) Cygan. Local hero and 10-TV news anchor, Heather (Pick) Cygan, lost her battle to breast cancer on Friday, November 7, 2008. Heather is survived by her husband, Joe; their children, Julia 7 and Jack 4; loving and supportive relatives and many, many close friends. Heather was the shining light in every room she entered as well as in the heart of every person she met. Not only was she sweet and caring, but the energy, courage and bravery bottled up in her petite frame exceeded that of an entire varsity cheerleading squad AND football team. Fighting and cheering for children. Fighting and cheering for women. Educating the public. Making loved ones laugh. Making strangers laugh. Brightening up the life everyone she came in contact with. These are the things for which this wonderful young woman will be remembered. Maybe her bright pink wigs too. There will be a private celebration of life for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, Heather requested simply, "Don't wait. Give someone an unexpected gift just because you appreciate them. Take your own loved ones to a cherished community treasure or try something completely new." If you would like to make a donation in Heather's memory, please consider The Columbus Zoo, Nationwide Children's Hospital or the Stefanie Spielman Fund. A bench in Heather's honor will be dedicated by the pond upon entrance to the Columbus Zoo - a favorite place to visit with her family. Sign the online guestbook at www.dispatch.com/obituaries

Circle Of Support Lyrics..
The day we were given the news it shook us to the core We knew that life had changed in every way forever more Everyone asked how I am and I hope that they will see. One who helps me stand is standing next to me. You're my circle of support. I can't do this without you. When things go wrong you keep me strong one thing is true I know my circle starts with you.

Respect

Respect each peer, Respect each for more
Attributes stand next to your conscience’s core
Respect each night, Respect each day
Actions reveal your character in every way
Respect each creature, Respect each beast
Trust unveils truth hidden behind nature’s mist
Respect each cloud, Respect each grain of sand
Mercy will offer you her helping hand
Respect each color, Respect each race
Equality speaks only of mercy and grace
Respect each river, Respect each pond
Mother Nature conveys her great wonders and beyond
Walk into each day,
With your heart soaked in hope and joy
As day fades and night endures
Respect will never destroy

A Look At Value City's Objectives While In Bankruptcy

Background on the Bankruptcy Filing

Just an update...

My hard drive crashed and I had to get a new one and finally got most of the software and drivers reloaded. I will be responding to the emails I have received over the next day or so.

I will also get back onto the Blog site in the next few days too to get it back up to date!

Not sure what hit me.. but trying to figure it out..

Gotta love PC's!

Standard Time Returns; Set Clocks Back

Reminder to all who this applies to.....

CENTRAL OHIO –

It's a great weekend to catch up on lost sleep and ensure sure your home is safe.
Our time falls back this weekend, NBC 4 reported.
Standard time will return; set your clocks back an hour Saturday at 2 a.m.
That will mean an extra hour of sleep or whatever else your heart desires.
Don't forget to check the batteries in your smoke detectors and carbon monoxide detectors, too.

A Halloween Poem

Jack-o-lantern smiling bright
Witches flying in the night
Ghosts and goblins, cats and bats
Witches with their funny hats
A full moon can't be beat
As we go out to Trick or Treat
Happy Halloween!!

Comment on the "Banned Value City Back to School Commercial"

Yes, it's real -- we produced it with our ad agency for Back to School 2007, to test the response we'd get through You Tube and other viral marketing channels. Kind of a different twist on item and price advertising, isn't it?

Comment from Cathy -
Thanks Anonymous for the information. It definitely isn't Advertising like what we have seen in the past with the Company. We just weren't sure if someone was slamming VC or if it was real and just a different approach that they were trying :)

LUCK

Days gone by and chances are passed away
Still believe in the word called luck
Success may be due to hard work
But sometimes it is not enough

But believe it or not,
Even with no hard work
You will succeed in every chance you have
Maybe not now, Maybe soon

Just remember if you can't work hard
Then work smart / smarter

In this case that is what we call
LUCK
