CONSTRUCTION WORKERS’ JOB FAIR
Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) and construction manager Smoot McDaniels in conjunction with general trades contractor Miles-McClellan are hosting a job fair for construction workers to build COTA’s new, state-of-the-art paratransit facility. Miles-McClellan will be taking applications for general laborers, masons and mason tenders only. 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, 2009, at COTA’s Fields Avenue Facility, Main Lobby, 1333 Fields Ave., Columbus, Ohio 43201. Attendees must bring resumes to be considered. The facility is scheduled for completion in November 2010.
HAUGLAND LEARNING CENTER JOB FAIR
All-day job and recruitment fair for Haugland Learning Center and Haugland Consulting will be held on October 30. The event will be at the center, 3400 Snouffer Rd., Columbus, 43235 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The company is looking to fill positions in the school program as well as the consulting business.

JOB CORP
The Ohio Woodland Job Corps have more than 130 jobs open for people who are interested in working in the woods. The jobs will be for 25 weeks, where workers will learn how to spot and remove invasive plant species, how to fight wildfires, how to plant trees and how to maintain trails. Most of the jobs will pay $13.44 an hour for up to a total of 1,000 hours. Supervisors will earn about a dollar an hour more. Some of these temporary jobs might lead to full time jobs.

AETNA
Aetna announced Tuesday, April 7, it will hire at least 200 new employees for its New Albany facility on West Campus Drive.
The expansion was expected to bring approximately 210 to 250 new jobs in the community.
Aetna said it will hire for positions ranging from care-management nurses and health concierges to project managers and support staff.

For those looking for a new job or career change, look in the medical field for pharmacy technician positions.
You have to pass a state exam, but a 10-week program offered at Columbus State Community College may be able to help and land you a job.
A company called Progressive Medical in Westerville is hiring pharmacy technicians. The company sells medical equipment and runs a mail-order pharmacy.
The company usually pays $12 to $14 an hour and employees receive benefits the day they begin work.
The course at Columbus State is $750 and the price includes books.
