Start with healthy decisions
The end of summer and the return to school/work activities
can be stressful. Rather than fall into unhealthy habits,
greet autumn with a positive focus on your health.
Manage stress
• Find ways to de-stress by exercising or simply finding
time to relax
• Participate in outdoor activities such as playing catch
with your child or apple picking at a local orchard
• Make sure to get 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night, as
recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention (CDC). Your children need even more sleep than
that. Not getting enough sleep is associated with a number
of chronic conditions, including diabetes, cardiovascular
disease, obesity, and depression¹
Eat healthier
• Eat more fruits and vegetables
• Limit alcohol intake and drink more water
• Watch your caloric intake and diet
Get regular exams
• Schedule physical exams for you and your family members
• Make sure you and your family are up-to-date on
necessary, preventive checkups for the detection of certain
diseases (eg, mammography, Pap smear, prostate cancer
test, and cholesterol or diabetes screenings)
• Get appropriate vaccinations, including flu shots
Check your medicines
• Organize your medicine chest and check expiration dates
• Plan ahead for the medicines or prescription refills you
may need (eg, seasonal allergy medications)
• Determine if you and your family members are eligible
for the Together Rx Access® Card
