Boso said the distribution center will be home to about 130 employees.
Netflix executives are currently soliciting applications to fill these positions.
The Netflix Web site said company officials will issue public comment only through the Web site. The Record requested a comment last week and received no reply.
City Council in November unanimously approved a development and incentive agreement that will bring a distribution center for Netflix Inc., the world's leading DVD rent-by-mail operation, to 90,000 square feet of warehouse space at 2141 Southwest Blvd. in the Southpark office and industrial park.
Boso said the distribution center is being transferred from Los Gatos, Calif., to Grove City.
The Netflix building currently has no real estate tax abatements available.
Boso said city officials offered Netflix a 50-percent share of potential employees' income tax for seven years as an incentive to locate in Grove City.
Netflix reportedly has nearly 9-million subscribers who can choose from 100,000 DVD titles for rental and 12,000 choices for instant viewing over a personal computer or television.
The company was founded in Scotts Valley, Calif., in August 1997.
