The Central Ohio Workforce Investment Corporation/JOB Leaders One Stop Career Center will distribute a limited number of the vouchers from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
To qualify, people must be at least 18 and unemployed and bring photo identification to the career center at 1111 E. Broad St.
The agency has about 2,000 vouchers, which it obtained from a national pool of about 100,000 that CVS is setting aside for the unemployed. The vouchers must be redeemed by the end of the year, said Jana Davis of the work-force corporation.
Without a voucher or insurance, a seasonal-flu shot costs $30 at CVS.
Davis said those who want more information about CVS hours and locations can call 1-888-358-7468 or go to www.cvs.com/flu.
But vouchers aren't the only option for low-cost or free flu shots.
Individuals and families with children who cannot obtain a seasonal-flu shot through their doctor or at a retailer still can find a clinic, said Jose Rodriguez, Columbus Public Health spokesman.
For information on those sites, contact the Adult Immunization Coalition's hot line at 614-437-2900 or go to www.vaccine4me.com.
